PARENTS of young people are anxious about their offspring driving - with nearly three quarters in favour of probationary licences being given to new drivers. In a survey conducted ahead of the Government Green Paper on improving young drivers' safety, 82% of those questioned said the thought of their child driving on British roads made them feel anxious. Mercedes-Benz has initiated a voluntary recall for its 2013 SL-class due to an issue with the air-conditioning system. Under “worst-case condition” testing during a severe front impact, a rupture of the refrigerant line is possible, which could cause a fire in the engine compartment. According to the report from Mercedes Benz, the refrigerant does not ignite under normal conditions.
Race-car driver Scott Pruett is also a winemaker, and his vineyard is releasing a limited-edition Napa Cabernet to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Indianapolis 500. Pruett and his wife, Judy, opened their vineyard in 2006 in Auburn, Calif., on the eastern slope of the northern Sierra Mountains. They create small-lot, hand-crafted premium wines.
